The Homaroo Engineer Agreement
Version 1 - 28 July 2026
This is the agreement between you and Homaroo. We've written it in plain English on purpose — if anything here isn't clear, ask us before you agree to it: [email protected].
The short version
- You're your own boss. Homaroo finds you work; you decide what to accept.
- Every job shows you the payout before you accept. Accepting means you're committing to turn up and do the work properly.
- You must hold the right registrations and insurance for the work you take on, and keep them valid. If they lapse, stop taking jobs and tell us.
- We take a commission from each job — your level sets the rate, and you can always see it in the app. Customer discounts come out of our share, never yours.
- Treat customers and their data with care. Turn up, be straight with people, record your work honestly.
- Either of us can end this arrangement. You'll always be paid for completed work.
Who's who
"Homaroo", "we" and "us" means TIBRA ENTERPRISE LTD (company number 16915407), registered at Office 16117, 182–184 High Street North, East Ham, London, England, E6 2JA — the company that runs the Homaroo platform.
"You" means the engineer holding the account. This agreement starts when you tick the box accepting it during onboarding, and covers every job you take through Homaroo after that.
You're your own boss
You work for yourself. Homaroo is a platform that connects you with customers — we're not your employer, and this isn't an employment contract.
That means:
- You choose which jobs to accept. There's no minimum, no rota, and no penalty for simply not taking work.
- You're responsible for your own tax and National Insurance, as a self-employed contractor.
- You provide your own tools, transport and materials, unless a job says otherwise.
- You can't send someone else to do a job you accepted. The customer is expecting you — the vetted, qualified person on the profile.
Staying qualified and insured
Customers trust Homaroo because every engineer is vetted. That only works if what we verified stays true, so you agree to:
- Only take on work you're qualified and legally entitled to do. For gas work, that means being on the Gas Safe Register and staying within your registration categories and ACS competence. For other trades we offer, the equivalent registration or qualification applies.
- Hold valid public liability insurance that covers the work you do through Homaroo.
- Keep your registrations, ID and insurance up to date in the app, and stop accepting jobs immediately if any of them lapse — then tell us, so we can help you get back up and running once they're renewed.
If we find that a document you gave us isn't genuine, or that you've been working outside your qualifications, we'll remove you from the platform — that one isn't a conversation.
How jobs work
- Offers. When a job matches you, we'll offer it to you with the payout, the date and time window, the location and what the customer has told us — everything you need to decide, up front.
- Accepting is committing. When you accept a job, the customer is told an engineer is coming. Only accept work you genuinely intend to turn up for, on time.
- If you can't make it. Things happen — but cancelling accepted jobs, or not turning up, lets the customer down badly and is the fastest way to lose access to the platform. If you're not going to make a job, tell us as early as you possibly can.
Doing the work
- Do the work you accepted, to the standard your qualifications require — taking shortcuts on safety is never acceptable.
- Record your work honestly in the completion report, including photographs where asked. If something is unsafe, say so — an honest "unsafe, do not use" protects the customer, you, and us. Never record an outcome you didn't verify.
- If a job turns out to be different from what was described — bigger, different appliance, not safe to proceed — record it honestly rather than improvising outside the job's scope.
Money
- The customer pays a fixed price that they saw before booking. You see your payout for that job before you accept it — no haggling on the doorstep, ever.
- Our commission. Homaroo keeps a percentage of each job — that's how the platform is funded. Your commission rate depends on your engineer level, and both are always visible in the app on your profile.
- Discounts never touch your payout. If a customer uses a promo code, the discount comes out of Homaroo's share. Your payout is calculated on the full price.
- Getting paid. Your earnings for completed jobs are paid to the bank account you registered. For everyone's security, once your payout account is on file it can only be changed by contacting [email protected].
- No fees to you. Joining Homaroo is free. There are no lead fees, no subscriptions, and you never pay for a job you didn't get.
Ratings and levels
Customers rate their experience after each job. Your level — and with it your commission rate and perks like early access to new jobs — is based on your completed jobs, your rating, your cancellation rate and your on-time rate. The thresholds are shown in the app, so you always know where you stand and what moves you up.
Customers and their data
A job gives you a customer's name, address, contact details and information about their home. You agree to:
- Use those details only for the job you accepted — never for marketing, never to arrange work off-platform for that booking, and never share them with anyone else.
- Delete any customer details you no longer need once the job is done.
- Treat the customer and their home with respect — you're the person standing in front of them wearing our reputation.
Location sharing
While you're travelling to a job, the app shares your live location with that customer so they can see you're on the way and when you'll arrive. That's part of what makes Homaroo feel safe and reliable to customers, and you consented to it during onboarding. Sharing stops when the journey does.
If things go wrong
- Something on site goes wrong — tell us straight away via [email protected]. Problems we hear about early are almost always fixable.
- A customer complains. We'll always hear your side. Honest engineers with an occasional unhappy customer have nothing to worry about; patterns of no-shows, unsafe work or poor reviews are a different matter.
- Removal. We can suspend or remove your access to the platform for breaking this agreement — including repeated cancellations or no-shows, dishonest reports or documents, unsafe work, or misusing customer data. Wherever it's fixable, we'll talk to you first.
- Leaving. You can stop using Homaroo whenever you like — just finish or properly cancel anything you've already accepted. Either way, you'll be paid for the work you completed.
Changes to this agreement
If we change this agreement in any meaningful way, we'll show you the new version and ask you to accept it before you continue taking jobs — we'll never change the deal silently underneath you.
The legal bit
We've kept this agreement in plain English on purpose, and the plain meaning is the one that counts. This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute about it belongs to the courts of England and Wales. If one part of it ever turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
